AI design system

1. a system built for chaos - curated for you

What if packaging was never meant to be repeated?

At Choc the Bean, we didn’t want just one great design.

We wanted a constantly evolving visual language — made possible by AI, shaped by human instinct, and printed in ways that packaging machines were never built for.

Every single coffee pouch features a one-of-a-kind artwork, generated, selected, and refined through a process that is as creative as it is technical.

2. how it really works: a double-diamond-process

We don’t just type a prompt and wait.

Diamond One: Finding the Seed

We begin by exploring ideas in all directions — sometimes abstract, sometimes emotional, sometimes rooted in visual references.

Do we want a single image? A series? A whole sub-collection?

Once we see signs of something promising, we sharpen our focus. We refine prompts. We test themes. We identify what’s worth expanding.

Diamond Two: Expanding the Visual Field

Once a core idea exists, we go wide again — across multiple AI models, versions, and render styles. We test color palettes, visual densities, textural forms, even metallic variations.

Some outputs inspire entire directions. Others confirm dead ends. But every iteration teaches us something.

The process is part exploration, part editing, part obsession.

3. curation starts early

Curation doesn’t happen at the end. It begins the moment we write a prompt.

Every choice — from text input to final layout — is a filter.

We sort, we combine, we discard. Some prompts generate one standout image. Others unlock entire visual families.

We often layer tools: using one AI model for generation, another for enhancing texture, another for layout fidelity. And sometimes, we just go back and try again.

4. from chaos to pouch: the print challenge

Once a design is selected, it enters our layout
pipeline
— optimized for industrial digital print,
but tailored to the quirks of each visual.

We adjust image scaling, alignment, bleed zones, and optional features like AI-guided metallic accents.

Every background is assigned to a single bag.

No design is ever printed twice.

To make that possible, we had to convince printers to rethink their entire setup:

·       Automate variable data across thousands of bags

·       Avoid misalignments at scale

·       Keep costs reasonable

·       Deliver without jamming the process

It wasn’t easy. Most said no.

But we found partners who were curious — and maybe a little bit crazy. Just like us.

5. more than design - a statement

Our AI design system isn’t just a tool.

It’s a way of thinking — about coffee, about packaging, about what’s worth repeating.

With every pouch you hold, you hold a design that only exists once — the result of hundreds of decisions, dozens of models, and a willingness to get it wrong a hundred times first.

Because in a world of sameness, we wanted to create something that always disappears.
